  • Hector Rivera, DVM

    Dr. Rivera attended vet school at the University of Guadalajara and graduated in 1987. He came to the United States in 1990 and worked as a technician in several veterinary clinics, despite already being a veterinarian in Mexico. He studied English as a second language and went to Iowa State University in 2004, where he completed an Evaluated Clinic Experience Program. In 2005 he took the national and state boards and gained licensure as a veterinarian in California.

    Eventually, the opportunity arose for him to own his own clinic. In December of 2013 he purchased Four Paws Veterinary Clinic and has been the owner and sole veterinarian here. Dr. Rivera enjoys seeing canine and feline patients, performing various surgeries, and using the science of medicine to be a problem solver for his patients. 

    In his free time Dr. Rivera enjoys soccer (futbol) and spending time with his family. They have a toy poodle named Daisy.

  • Michelle, RVT

    Michelle joined the Four Paws team in September 2013 as Head RVT after a cross-country move. In addition to this, she has also taken on the role of Practice Manager. She decided a career in the veterinary field was for her when she realized she could combine her passion for science and love of animals! She graduated with her degree in Veterinary Technology in 2010 and holds RVT certification in several states.

    Michelle enjoys traveling, her belly dance performance group, Krav Maga, softball, and living near the beach. If you look up, you might see her in the skies because she holds a private pilot certificate and loves to fly! She shares her home with an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie named Bronx, a Mini Aussie named Indy, and a trio of kitties: Zeke, Preston and Shaylee.

  • Randi

    Randi rejoined the Four Paws team in March 2019 as a veterinary assistant. She is currently studying to become a veterinary technician . She chose this occupation for the love of animals and medical science, and has an interest in the equine side of veterinary medicine.

    In her time away from work, she enjoys being a mom to her two beautiful baby boys, Elijah Jr. and Ezekiel. Randi also has a Cane Corso named Willow and a cat named Buck.

  • Emily

    Emily joined us on staff after completing her externship here for her veterinary assistant certificate program. She was led to this profession by her love of animals and desire to be able to help them. She plans to further her education by pursing a degree to become a registered veterinary technician. 

    Emily lives on an equine ranch and enjoys spending time with the horses and her family. She has two horses named Chaparra and Diabla, and a cow named Corazon.

  • Maria

    Maria has joined us at Four Paws after entering the veterinary field working at a local rescue center. She chose this occupation her due to her love for animals and is eager to help and keep pet health a top priority.

    Maria has an almost 1 year old Nebelung cat named Mylo, who is the most loving cat and has absolutely changed her life!

  • Melissa

    Melissa joins us as an experienced veterinary assistant who has always had an interest in working with and helping animals. In addition to cats and dogs, Melissa has worked with small exotics like rodents, reptiles, and marsupials. She is planning on furthering her education by either pursuing her RVT license or studying wildlife medicine. 

    Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and pets outdoors. She still has her childhood dog, Max, who is a 16 now and still has zoomies and keeps her on her toes. She also adopted Kodak this year, her "lover boy" 3 year old Great Dane.

  • Lupita

    Lupita is a recent graduate of Charter College. We were happy to have her join us as a veterinary assistant immediately after completing her externship here. Like many who work in this field, she has a passion for animals and has always seen herself working with pets. 

    She enjoys spending time with her family when she's not helping your furry family members here at work! This includes her wild French Bulldog who is a pro at riding a skateboard.

  • Monse

    Monse is currently attending Ventura College in the Veterinary Technology program and will be an RVT soon! She already has a veterinary assistant certificate. She loves animals and wants to help other pets.

    For fun, Monse enjoys going to the gym. She was a soccer player until she tore her ligament in 2020. She also has dachshund named Coco who likes to go on mile runs with her.
